Chatelaine Magazine Tribute to Noorbanu Nimji’s Legacy

Chatelaine Magazine Tribute to Noorbanu Nimji’s Legacy

We are thrilled to share Chatelaine magazine’s tribute to Noorbanu Nimji’s Legacy. As our beloved matriarch, we always admired Noorbanu for her devotion to our family and to anyone who cared to learn the art of Indian cooking. We knew that she was appreciated in her community around the world because of how many books she sold. But, it was a complete surprise when Canada’s premiere magazine for women, Chatelaine, called to interview Noorbanu’s son, Akbar, and me, Karen.  This is when it hit us that Noorbanu’s reach had been even more profound that we’d realized.

You can read the article by Manisha Claire here. We are so grateful for the detailed research and in depth look at the impact Noorbanu had. We miss her everyday but are so happy her legacy lives on.

Please share a comment if you have any great stories to share about how A Spicy Touch and Noorbanu’s recipes affected you and your family. We’d love to hear from you.

With gratitude,

Karen Anderson, co-author, A Spicy Touch – Family Favourites from Noorbanu Nimji’s Kitchen
